SpinFree Installation Diagram

Typical Installation
The SpinFree nozzle has a standard 2” npt thread. In retrofits, typically if the existing thread is different, an off the shelf thread adapter can be utilized. Some towers have a European thread in which case we can have special adapters produced to allow the SpinFree nozzle to be screwed into the existing thread adapter.
The SpinFree nozzle is typically spaced on three (3) ft centers. The optimum nozzle height above the fill media is three (3) inches. (See attached sketch) If required, the SpinFree nozzle can be positioned at different heights above the fill media.
In retrofits, a 1-1/2” or 2” down-comer pipe is required to position the nozzle three (3) inches above the fill media. These down comers are stabilized by attaching a one-inch (1) fiberglass angle with stainless steel screws at each junction where the angle comes in contact with the down-comer pipe. (See sketch above)
The SpinFree nozzle has two nozzle inserts to accomadate different water loadings. (See flow charts) Typically we reduce the water loading around the perimeter of the tower to minimize wall water. Click here to learn more about how the nozzle works.
